What is Video Post Production?

The footage is shot. The crew is wrapped. The talent went home.

What, now? Well, Post-Production starts when the footage is copied to the hard drive and gets passed off to the editors and they begin to stitch together a narrative from the audio and visuals that were created.

Depending on the complexity of the project, a number of filmmakers will be involved including Supervisors, Editors, Sound Engineers, and Colorists to ensure that the process is efficient with high-quality output.

Post-Production Capabilities

Video Editing

Our video editors are at the top of their game. A good edit can really define the video and reinforce the visual concept. It is the key to helping your content truly shine.

Working from the script, the video editors cut together the footage using creative input from the Producer, Director, and Cinematographer.

Color Grading

Most people don’t realize that color grading differs from color correction in several key ways. While color correction is still integral to many workflows, color grading can be a little more complex.

Compared to color correction, color grading relies on a colorist that makes subtle adjustments which can add atmosphere to different shots and tie the whole video’s look together in a cohesive way, while adding mood.

Correction vs. Grading: The colorist uses color correction to make the image look clean to the human eye. This could be normalizing skin tones and white balance, going for a more natural color process, and aiming for more realistic imagery.

The term color grading, however, uses different hues, saturation, color techniques, and other adjustments to inject more emotion into the video
