Live ActionVideo Production

Real Filmmaking. Rock Solid Execution.

What is Live-Action Video?

Big fancy video cameras, check! Lights, Actors, and Directors? Check, check, check.

Live-action production is a video that involves real people instead of animation or CG. Back in the day, you would only see this on tv and in the movies, but now, it is a massive part of the digital experience, and that includes the internet.

It is the most common form of digital media that you are used to seeing. As technology has improved over the past twenty years, so has the accessibility to video productions that were previously reserved for the big video production companies that could afford to sustain the overhead.

Here are some ways that Live Action video production is a must for every brand:

  • Watching is more accessible than reading. Having a video is a great way to reinforce long-form messaging for those who want to digest information fast.
  • Video Content is a perfect format for communicating what separates your brand from the countless others that are trying to do the same thing as you.
  • Provides a human element to your brand. Live-action evokes emotion.

No More Reshoots

We get it right the first time. By having a robust production process, we minimize the need for ever having to reshoot footage due to communication or planning issues.

Having a solid plan in place before even setting up a tripod is essential so that the shoot is successful and maximizes efficiency for the video production process.

Who is it for?

The live-action video is perfect for every brand. It is the most effective way to connect with your audience and communicate your message.

It isn’t a question of “who needs it,” but “which” visuals do they need.

Every company is different, and the type of services or products will dictate your budget, level of video production, and consistency required to adequately put yourself out there with robust and brand-forward video content.

Why do you need it?

After the film shoot is finished, we move on to the next phase of production. In Post Production, we back up the footage to multiple hard drives before it is sent off to our video editors.

From there, they will begin cutting the footage, and you will be sent a rough cut that we can review together for changes.

We use a platform called Frame.io, where you will be able to enter notes that are linked to the exact time in the video. Frame-io cuts down on back-and-forth when trying to find the precise time of the notes.

How much does a video cost

We get this question a lot. This isn’t a sexy answer, but video project pricing varies considerably.

Basic live-action film shoots shot in 1 location, with limited people on screen, can range from $7,500 – $15,000. Adding in more complexity (IE: More characters, location scouts, days of shooting, equipment, the crew needed to accommodate it), and the price can go from anywhere from $15,000 – $150,000.

More on this here.

What type of video do I need?

There are so many different decisions you must make when creating a new marketing video.

Should it be authoritative, playful, or thought-provoking?

The cinematography should be a reflection of the content inside the piece. We can help you flesh out the format and get to the core of the problem you are trying to solve with it for your target audience.

We are storytellers at heart.
